What we do
ParadeDB is an alternative to Elasticsearch built on Postgres. We build state-of-the-art full-text search and columnar analytics inside Postgres as a Postgres extension.
We help companies like Modern Treasury, BILT Rewards, Alibaba Cloud, and several others:
- Eliminate ETL/change data capture tools
- Reduce indexing times by hours
- Add transactional guarantees to their search indexes
We're a small, focused team of experienced engineers committed to fostering an inclusive and fun work environment. We’re based in New York City and make exceptions for stellar engineers who cannot relocate. We are a Series A company with a flat structure, strong investors, and lots of room for growth.
What we want
We’re looking for an infrastructure engineer to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate should have:
- A solid foundation in cloud infrastructure/architecture and Kubernetes
- Experience working with Kubernetes in a production environment (bonus points if you have experience working with CloudNativePG)
- Experience operating Postgres in a production environment (bonus point if you have experience working with Postgres features like logical replication and backups)
- Proficiency in infrastructure tooling like Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, YAML, Bash/Python, etc.
- Experience engaging with customers directly in a solutions engineering/SRE-type role or working on a Bring-Your-Own-Cloud type of solution
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch-type workloads or analytical databases is a plus
We're seeking someone creative, independent, and excited by difficult technical challenges who can teach us as much as they learn from us. The ideal candidate will bring thoughtful opinions to the team, be excited to engage with and learn from customers, and be willing to wear many hats.
What you want
- You want to be part of the core team of a fast-growing infrastructure startup
- You want to wear many hats and interface directly with customers
- You’re passionate about the Postgres ecosystem, databases, search technologies, and/or data analytics
